1. What is Music-Sites.net Topsites and how does it work?
Music-Sites.net Topsites is a CGI (Common Gateway Interface) script that maintains a Top Sites list sorted
either by the number of hits or the total score. One of the advantages of the script is that it generates
the Top List in HTML format, rather than generating it "on-the-fly", thus, taking the server resource
load to a minimum.
2. How can I add my website to Top List?
Click the "Add your site" link located at the top of the list and follow the instructions to register your website.
After the signup is complete your site will be reviewed within 1-2 days.
3. Where can I get the voting HTML code that I can put on my site?
Just go to the account login page and choose "Display link syntax" in the drop-down-menu.
4. Why are all the votes reset to 0 after a certain period of time?
The list can be reset every period of time, determined by the script administrator.
This, sometimes, allows the newer sites to catch up with the "veteran" list members and
draws a more fair picture of websites ratings.
5. Why when I enter HTML tags in the signup form, they do not appear as HTML?
The script automatically filters any HTML tags that are inserted in the signup and update forms.
This is done for security reasons to make sure that no one will mess up the top list by inserting
malicious HTML or JavaScript code.
6. My website information has changed, how can update my information on the Top List?
Use the "Account login" link at the top of the list to log in to member area. If you logged in successfully,
Member Control Panel is displayed and your site profile is shown. Enter the new information in the
text boxes and click the submit-button to update your website information. The updated
information will be shown on the Top List with the next update.
7. Why is my site not included in the Top List right after I signed up?
The Top List is not generated dynamically, but it is updated every period of time that is set by the
script administrator. You will be able to see your website on the list with the next update. The time
of last update is shown at the top of the list. Also, the script administrator may select not to show
the websites that have 0 votes on the Top List. If that is the case, you will need at
least 1 vote for your website to appear on the Top List.
8. Why do I get "Member not found in the database" error message when I am trying to log in?
Either you entered incorrect website ID or your account was deleted by the script administrator.
9. Why my site does not appear on the top list even though I signed up and I have more than 0 votes?
The script administrator may select not to show the "Inactive Sites" on the Top List. The site is
considered to be "Inactive" if it does not receive any votes for a certain period of time, set by
the script administrator.
10. I have more than one site, can I use the same code in all my sites?
Nope, you have to sign up seperatly for each site.
11. Can I use pop-up windows, onunload windows or javascript prompt boxes?
Yes if you wish, but you may find it annoys your site's visitors. But it has been shown that this
will attract your visitors attention and bring you more visits.
12. Why was my site removed?

- Contains adult material.
- Illegal methods were used to boost your sites voting.
- We are unable to access your site or your provider had removed you.
