The Haraoke Band - who we are

We are: Harry B, Harry M, Karen, Clive and Dot.

The group's origins lie with Harry's B and M, who got together (drums and keyboard, respectively) to do a singalong night for Harry B's birthday. The pair enjoyed this so much, they did some more "Haraoke" nights, and later recruited Clive (sax/clarinet) and Karen (bass) to form the group. Dot, our vocalist, is the most recent addition to our band, and we're looking forward to increasing our repertoire to include a wide range of vocal numbers.

Initially, the group used the original singalong format, but have now broadened their repertoire to provide a broad spectrum of entertainment types.

The Haraoke Band have helped a number of people with fundraising efforts:

Cockerton Methodists were our first hosts for a Haraoke Night when they were starting to fundraise for the refurbishment of their church hall.

Darlington Crossroads and Carers in Union Street had us play outside for BBC Music Live (see photo on another page).

Northgate URC have booked us for a number of events, including fundraising nights and the recent flower festival during the Heritage Open Days weekend.

We don't just do fundraising events, we can provide a full evening's entertainment for your group, with band sessions separated by music from the Stag Roadshow.

We have played in all the best venues, including Seamer Village Hall, Newbus Arms Hotel, Darlington Gaelic Society, Grange Road Baptist Church Hall, and the Memorial Hospital Social Club.

We've even played to a bunch of bellringers who were cruising the Tyne on the Shields Ferry. Best pie & peas supper we've had for a long time...

If you want to get in touch, please email us here at Communigate, or use the other contact details listed. We hope to hear from you soon to discuss your Haraoke Night. As yet, we can't supply you with a demo cd, but if you wish to listen to us before you book, you are more than welcome to witness the hilarity that happens while we rehearse.
