"We are sooo alive right now" wrote ?uestlove as members of the legendary Roots crew escaped a deadly bus crash in Paris. The Roots were involved in a tour bus crash en route to the French capital Wednesday night on their way to a play a gig with Kanye West. Fortunately, they escaped tentacles of death and walked out of the accident with minor injuries.

Roots drummer Ahmir '?uestlove' Thompson described the incidence as it happened: "In reality the crash was all of about 7 seconds....but to do a 360 on the highway and end up ramped up (the van that crashed into ours was UNDER our double decker bus) in the air....is....well... a frigging miracle." He later added, "the only way i can describe it is that scene in back to the future when doc is in the clock tower and had mere seconds to connect a broken plug that will power marty mcfly's car with 1.8 jiggawatts of lightening power." An upcoming Atlanta rapper shot a man twice, felt good about it, and was stupid enough to rap about the shooting in a song. "Ask Chad Blue, he knows how I shoot," rapped 25-year old Rico Todriquez Wright after shooting Chad Blue in the thigh and groin. According to Yahoo News, a judge sentenced Wright to 20 years behind bars for two counts of aggravated assault. He will also spend another 20 years on probation. This story reminds me of an episode of The Dave Chappelle Show: When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.

One of the suspects named in the murder of T.I.’s personal assistant and childhood friend, Philant Johnson, went on trial yesterday in Cincinnati. T.I. will be called to testify later this week in the trial of 34-year old Hosea Thomas, who has been accused of shooting Philant Johnson.

Authorities say Thomas fired shots into a car carrying part of T.I.'s entourage shortly after leaving Club Ritz in Roselawn. Johnson was killed in the shooting and 4 others were injured. The suspect faces multiple charges including murder and felonious assault, after nearly 2 years of investigating the May 2006 chase and shootout.

T.I. is expected to testify Friday.

Soulja Boy emerged from obscurity to become one of the most buzzed about rappers today, thanks to notorious hits like "Crank That" and "Yahhh!" The teen rap sensation is now hoping to turn his web popularity into a platinum plaque come December.

In a recent YouTube clip, Soulja Boy strongly urges fans to support his upcoming sophomore CD. Why? Well, for starters he has a Gucci-branded trash can (as you can see from the video) and those things don't come cheap.
