Alaria Taylor - Unfinished Business
|
Alaria Taylor sings like an angel and has a solid foundation of contemporary rock-pop to back her say-it-like-you-mean it vocals.
It seems Alaria had some Unfinished Business to write and sing about, so she got it all down on 12 fine tracks offered up on this lively new CD. Taylor vocalizes about everything from taking the time to drop to your knees and pray (“One Hour A Day”) to getting the wrong order at McDonalds (“This Isn’t What I Ordered”). While getting her message across about being spiritual she waxes about the daily frustrations of life and gives a warning to an over indulgent egotistical individual on “Drowning In His Own Life.”
Her magnetic appeal lies in her delivery, every fiber of her soul comes through with each syllable she vocalizes. The spiritual vibe is strong on this album as it weaves its way in and out of nearly every track. What I appreciated most, besides her fantastic set of pipes, is the way she divides the humor and realities of life equally without coming on too strong. Taylor is obviously very driven and serious about her life and her work but she is not pushy about it, she lays it on the table for you to take a look at, then you make your own choice whether to take it or not. She sure makes it all appealing with that voice of hers!
This is music for the 40 something crowd but the messages are for anyone old enough to understand the words she is singing.
