Thin Lizzy - Inside Thin Lizzy-1971-1983/An Independent Critical Re...

Thin Lizzy - Inside Thin Lizzy-1971-1983/An Independent Critical Re... Thin Lizzy are legendary rockers with a storied past. The black Irishmen, Phil Lynott, became one of the most charismatic front men in music in the 70’s and early 80’s. His bass playing and vocals defined the Thin Lizzy sound on classic albums such as Jailbreak (1976) and Bad Reputation (1977).

Lynott became another rock ‘n’ roll casualty unfortunately and the world of music misses his great talent dearly. Despite several outstanding albums, the band never received the respect that they deserved. Their defining moment was Jailbreak and the big hit “The Boys Are Back In Town.”

Inside Thin Lizzy-1971-1983/An Independent Critical Review is a review of each album by respected rock critics. I found it to be in depth and revealing. An added bonus is that there is rare archived footage of the band and Lynott available for the first time on this DVD.

What I never realized back in the 70’s when I was a teenager listening to this music, is that Lynott was a true poet heavily influenced by his Celtic roots. The sound and atmospheres created in many of his songs were reflections of a proud heritage.

Well, it happened again, after watching this DVD I went to Amazon and started putting Thin Lizzy albums in my shopping cart! It was great music and wonderful time for me, it is documentaries such as this that serve as a music history lesson and a reminder of some of the best rock music ever recorded.
