The Speeds - The Speeds
|
 I smell something sweetly reminiscent, like something mother used to bake…well, perhaps that is to endearing of a statement to make about a kick ass trio that sounds like a combination of The Clash and The Ramones. They call themselves The Speeds and their name fits their sound completely.
It only took four tracks for me to get high on their music as they get “High On Cash” and “Nothing At All” for my worries to “Go Away” while listening to this head-banging spree of angst and fervor. So how is that for a play on words? It’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it, yes I do (thanks for that line Mick).
I loved this music, its high-powered rock at its most excellent, no bullshit, just da music baby, and that’s the way I like it, uh huh. Go ahead, “Ask Me If I Care” about polish and perfection because it’s not necessary when it comes to the shot of rock straight up with no chaser The Speeds dish out on this EP.
