Alice Cooper - The Eyes of Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper - The Eyes of Alice Cooper Alice Cooper reaches back and embraces his glory days on The Eyes of Alice Cooper. This man is no fool; the godfather of shock rock is smart enough to surround himself with some of the best young talent in the music biz.

The Killer era came to mind with rockin’ tracks such as “Between High School & Old School.” Cooper shouts at the establishment-”Hey, I guess I’m a loner I don’t fit in, no. I aint too comfortable in my skin, oh.” There is nothing new in attitude or style folks, just Alice being Alice. Then a rousing “Detroit City,” aptly mentioning Iggy, Ziggy, and the MC5, cast a reflection of days gone by.

Cooper still looks and dresses the same, just as if he was ready to go out for Halloween night to pull some gross and disgusting pranks on the kiddies. Of course, now there are the wrinkles of wear and tear that you cannot hide, but what the hell? Give em’ a break, he is pushing 60.

I have to admit it, I miss those days in the ‘70s when I was wearing out albums like Billion Dollar Babies, Killer, and Muscle of Love. All of this music brought me back very quickly to that time. Cooper’s previous releases had a dark industrial mood/sound. It was good, but it all became tiresome after a few listens. It never fails, when an artist gets back to the basics and what originally made them successful, it proves without fail to be the best formula. Look at those eyes, how could you not put candy in his trick or treat bag?
