 Kitra is Not Just Lucky on her new release, she has genuine talent. Her voice wraps itself around many different styles of music including pop, rock, hip-hop and rhythm & blues.
She takes advantage of the well-honed musicianship provided by her band, and great music is a sure fire way to set up good lyrics. Most of the album consist of funky pop and rhythm & blues workouts that you can hear dominating the top-forty airwaves today. If this kind of music is your cup of tea, come fill your cup with a generous helping.
Kitra surely does reach her Full Potential on this recording. Lyrically it is very deep. I enjoyed some of the soul-searching such as this verse from “No More Running Away,” a song about self-realization and the truth.
I’ve been through so much
That I can’t hardly touch
The depth of the pain in me
Lord knows how I’ve tried
And Oh how I have cried
Time to face what I see in me
I am certain this could apply to anyone’s life at one time or another. The pain and feelings are genuinely sincere. If you happen to enjoy this particular brand of music and can appreciate heart-felt lyrics, I am certain this CD will work for you.
