The West MacQueen Street Band - Street Signs

 The West MacQueen Street Band is literally takin’ it to the streets on their new release Street Signs. As illustrated on the CD cover, you can join the band on a musical ride, choose from many exits, and follow the signs on your journey.
If you enjoy Contemporary Christian music that will put a little get-up-and-go back in your step, you will love this. Springsteen and that classic rock sound came to mind more than once while listening to this CD; particularly because the way they use horns and the Little Steven like guitar flourishes.
If you look at all the track titles, it is obvious what the subject matter is. “People Are You Ready” asks if drug abuse is the answer and offers another alternative by showing you that the light of the man upstairs can help with your attitude. “Little Man” helped me to recall when my son was a toddler and the reality of how he is growing up so fast. This music touched me in so many ways, but most of all I appreciated the fine musicianship and spirited vocals. There are eight people in this band and they jell together like one big happy musical family. This is great rock ‘n’ roll with a spiritual foundation that is unshakable…the message that is conveyed fills you up from your toes to your eyeballs; it is indeed good medicine for the soul.
