Iron Maiden - Edward The Great - The Greatest Hits
|
Iron Maiden was not one of the bands I was attracted to because of their image and the devilish science fiction artwork that decorated all of their album covers, it just looked to weird. Now it looks like excellent artwork. I also knew that they were head bangers and I was not crazy about even hearing music like that, ever. Well, things do change you know and so do people. Not only have I broadened my scope over the years, I have decided to listen to music that I would have never considered before. I am so glad that I have. Admittedly, I am not an expert on this group but I certainly do know how important they have been to the metal genus.
“Edward the Great-The Greatest Hits” has 16 incredible remastered tracks for all you metal heads out there that enjoy the pummeling of a thundering rhythm section and scorching guitars. What is cool is that you get to hear a few different lineups thrashing away on this set, so those of you that have followed the group for a long time get the best of both worlds. The sound is so clear and crisp that it would seem that any style of music would sound good in this format. The guitar and rhythm section comes popping right out at you and the fits-like-a-glove lyrics are just icing on the cake. The wailing and dark lead vocals of Bruce Dickinson and Blaze Bayley serve as another driving force behind the music. With a nasty shot between the eyes, the music and lyrics get your attention quickly and hang on without a seconds reprieve. That is what this type of music does best, it gives you a swift kick in the ass and knocks your socks off whether you are ready or not. This band has been one of the best and most influential over the past twenty years now and this collection tells that tale. It is time to let Iron Maiden show you what real metal is.
Lock up your wives; lock up your daughters, Edward the Great is alive and well!
