Carrie Clark - Reverie
|
I had to stop and think for a few minutes before I could put Carrie Clark into a genre. Even though she has many influences that flourish on her EP “Reverie,” like pop and blues to name a few, her strongest is jazz. Her voice set to the music compliments her light and inviting lyrics. It completes the fruition of each song. The instincts of her timing are crucial in closing this circle of events.
In just five tracks, she shows how comfortable she can be in any musical setting. From the swing of “A Little Romance” to the sweet pop whisperings of “Angel,” Clark puts her heart on the line and gives her very best with each song.
For a short running EP there is an awful lot of ground covered, and you walk away satisfied yet yearning for more of her angelic vocals to soothe and allure you. I see the makings of real jazz diva in Carrie Clark. One listen to this CD and you will surely agree.
