Various - The Banger Sisters Original Soundtrack

Various - The Banger Sisters Original Soundtrack As far as original soundtracks go, “The Banger Sisters-OST” is excellent. You do not get the usual retread hits that this type of release usually offers. What you do get are the old hits done by modern day artists with a few of the original stuck in there for good measure.

Tommy Lee does an upbeat supercharged up version of Bowie’s “Fame.” He even does a little rap, which I usually cannot take even on a good day, this time it wasn’t so bad. Richie Sambora, whose guitar playing is always top-notch, cranks out a Bon Jovi like song (no surprise there). I always thought he could hold his own as a vocalist too. The classic Talking Heads “Burning Down The House” was a reminder of what a great group they were and how much I miss them. Peter Frampton blows away everyone with a rocker called “Hour of Need.” Frampton takes a back seat to nobody on this gig, and he shows that he still has what it takes. The old Steppenwolf song “Rock Me” seems totally out of place on this collection. I am sure it fits in with the movie somehow, although I would not know, as I have not seen it yet.

I am not a big fan of original soundtracks and never have been. This one had me whistling a different tune and marching to a different drummer. It had to be good to change my opinion and feeling on soundtracks. Even if you do not see the movie, get this CD.
