Whitecross - Nineteen Eighty Seven
|
If you're a longtime follower of the band this new CD will sound very familiar to you.
This release is an all new re-recorded version of the band's 1987 self-titled debut release.
The band has taken all of the songs from the original release except for "You're Mine."
They've also added two new songs to make up for the missing one. The two new songs are, "Love On The Line," and "Re:Animate."
The band proves with this release that they still have a fire in their belly for making good music.
The drum beats by drummer Mike Feighan are sharp and strong enough to bore holes into the earth.
Legendary band guitarist Rex Carroll adds his own brand of smoking guitar riffs that are hot enough to set an ice cube on fire into the mix.
All of that is topped off by vocalist Scott Wenzel's, slightly high pitched, yet full out rock 'n' vocals.
I guess the old saying, "you can't go home again," isn't true for these rockers because they've definitely gone back home and brought it into the present with this re-recorded musical masterpiece.
If you're lucky enough to get one of the first 2,000 pressing of the CD you'll find four extra hidden tracks on it that are taken from the release's recording sessions.
If you're into Christian 'head banging' music this release will be getting a lot of time in your CD player!
