W.A.S.P. - Dying For The World

W.A.S.P. - Dying For The World Watch out all of you coward bastards that took part in downing the twin towers in NYC, we are tracking you down and will make you pay for what you did to our innocent brothers and sisters. I wonder if the people that planned and carried out that attack really understood what the impact would be on the world. Do you remember what a Japanese General said in the movie “Tora! Tora! Tora!” when we kicked their ass? “I think we have awoken a sleeping giant.” Take heed you soldiers from the bowels of hell, we are awake and we will not rest until we have sent you all back from whence you came, and I do not mean to heaven.

So what does all this mean and what does it have to do with a W.A.S.P. album? “Dying For The World” is all about 9/11/01, amongst other things. Blackie Lawless and his friends are on mission to deliver some death march music to Saddam and Bin Laden as our brave men and women ready themselves for an onslaught that will have them wishing that day never happened. We will push them out of their caves, underground tunnels, or wherever else they may be hiding, and while we are doing it, W.A.S.P. music will be blaring out of speakers heard for up to two miles. No doubt our people carrying the red white and blue flag will be the deliverers of a rock ‘n’ roll barrage. The effect will be like bagpipes coming over the mountainside to freak out their enemies. As Blackie says in his angry liner notes…the motherfuckers will be running like cowards when they hear the music because they know death is near. Spoken like a true American with balls enough to say what he really feels. I am with you Blackie!

This is a very strong effort and it does not surprise me that this is so because of all the emotion behind it. Lawless sings and plays as if he were a man possessed on this album. What can I say about Darrell Roberts’ guitar playing? The dude is a god of the six-string; he really smokes it from start to finish on this album. You will not hear anything that you have not heard before, except the lyrics, which will rock your soul. Fans of the group will be very pleased that the definitive ‘80s metal sound is still intact and as strong as it ever was. I listened in the morning and in the afternoon and the result was the same for me; I rocked my ass off and loved every minute of it. “Stone Cold Killers” tells the tale. Here is message for the coward murderers from Blackie-

Your lying messiah you know isn’t real
How will you die for the one that you kneel
Better get your guns
I’m gonna kill your god
My God will kill your god

Need I say more? I will let the music do the talking. If you believe in freedom and love the U.S.A. and rock ‘n’ roll, you need to buy this CD now. Thanks for the music Blackie and thanks for inspiring me to get all that off my chest. The truth is so liberating, and so is great music.
